Service Officer Bio:
Jim Lynch served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 until 1967. He served in Thailand and Laos in 1961, and Vietnam during 1964 and again in 1966/67. He left the Marine Corps as a platoon sergeant, staff sergeant (E-6). After five years separation, Mr. Lynch joined the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the 2138th Transportation Co., located in Remington. In 1977, he
left the Guard and entered the US Army Reserve. Mr. Lynch spent the next several years as a NCOES instructor with the 5030th USAR School at Fort Harrison. He later become the First Sergeant for a Headquarters Company. He retired from the Reserves in 1987 as a Sergeant Major (E-9) for Operations and Intelligence for the 123rd ARCOM.
He has been the Porter County Veterans' Service Officer since April 6, 2004.
