Service Officer Bio:

Roy Leon Leverich enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 5, 1955 and served until his retirement on June 1, 1982 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7). His specialty was in aircraft hydraulics and structures.
He identifies his high points as: eight extended deployments on 4 aircraft carriers, east and west. He served 4 1/2 years in A3D Skywarriors and 14 years in F4B/J Phantoms. He had shore duty in Georgia, Maryland and Virginia. After a 6 months language school he served a 2 1/2 year individual tour with Royal Netherlands Navy with deployments to France, Iceland and Portugal. His last duty was on the staff of Commander, Naval Air Force, Atlantic Fleet at Norfolk, VA.
He has been the Jay County Veterans' Service Officer since May 30, 1995.
